Internet sales tax gets hearing today The U.S. House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing today on five alternatives to Internet sales taxes, which is a top priority for many associations. Currently, federal law is unclear about what authority states have in collecting sales taxes from Internet purchases made from retailers outside their borders.
